Explorers Scout Troop has attracted two very capable female leaders, which means that from Term 3 2010 Explorers can accept female scouts into its ranks.

 

Ex-Venturer, Grace Talbot-Walsh (sister of Scout Lily), and Sandra Sunkel-Lozell (mother of Venturer Jordan and Scout Connor) have joined Richard, Steve, Jarrod and Tim to lead the ever-expanding bunch of mostly 11 and 12 year old boys.

 

Sandra is an outdoors person from years ago (New Zealand style) and is looking forward to getting back into outdoor activity. Richard and Steve have plenty lined up for her in terms 3 and 4 to reintroduce her to the joy of the wilderness !

 

Grace was a keen member of BPP Venturers for several years before old age caught up with her and she was 'booted' at 18. She will now further refine her Scouting skills with Explorers, while juggling a university course at the same time.

 

Girls wishing to join Explorers Troop (Monday nights) should be keen on outdoor activity and be prepared for hiking and camping on a fairly regular basis. Those interested should contact Group Leader, Tim Bracher, on 9787 0962 (Bus)
